In 2020, the QuantumDTU summer school will be held as the first training event for the QUDOT-TECH project. This course will bring together European and international Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) and professors in the field of quantum technology.

Due to COVID-19 the training event has been postponed to 12-16 October.

The event is organized in the framework of the QUDOT-TECH European H-2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network. QUDOT-TECH is the acronym for: Quantum Dots for Photonic Quantum Information Technologies. The overall objective of the project includes building an integrated on-chip technology platform, including Quantum Dot-based single-photon sources, waveguides, nonlinearities and detectors implemented on a planar chip.

For the training, we have created a unique and exciting programme of speakers. The central focus of the summer school is to provide an introduction to Quantum Dot (QD) theory. These advanced scientific courses will enhance the learners’ scientific profiles and provide a solid and comprehensive technical foundation. Further, students will engage in individual and group work on preselected problems and talks on hot topics, learning about and working to solve real-world problems in QD technology.

In addition, the course includes the topics of scientific and technical report writing and effective oral communication, along with responsible conduct in research--key tools for any scientific researchers’ success. ESRs will examine the structure of scientific papers and learn techniques for presenting clear logical arguments and skills needed to write well-structured text for scientific publishing. Different approaches will be further addressed, for providing effective oral presentations to both scientific and industrial fora and for engaging in public outreach.
